What We Believe
The Fellowship accepts the Bible — Old and New Testaments — as the inspired, inerrant, and only infallible Word of God, and as the final authority on everything related to faith and how we live. This statement sets the foundation for our fellowship and the standard for ministerial credentials.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
— 2 Timothy 3:16–17God's inspired, error-free Word — written by people moved by the Holy Spirit. We believe the written Word (logos) and the living word spoken by the Holy Spirit (rhema) are both real and active in every believer's life today.
2 Tim. 3:16–17; Heb. 4:12; Rom. 10:17God is one, expressed in three distinct persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God, co-equal, and eternal.
Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14The eternal Son of God — fully God and fully human, born of a virgin, sinless, crucified, risen bodily, ascended, and personally returning for His Church. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Isa. 7:14; John 1:1,14; 1 Cor. 15:3–4; Heb. 13:8God made human beings in His image. Through deliberate disobedience, humanity fell — bringing spiritual and physical death. Every person is born with a sinful nature and in need of redemption.
Gen. 1:26–27; Rom. 5:12–19; Eph. 4:18Freely offered to everyone through the atoning work of Christ. Received by grace through faith — turning to God in repentance and trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord. The new birth by the Holy Spirit is essential.
John 3:16–18; Eph. 2:8–9; Rom. 10:9–10An outward act commanded by Jesus Christ for every believer. Baptism is immersion in water — a symbol of identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:3–5Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Sanctification — the ongoing process of becoming more like Christ — begins at the new birth and continues by the power of the Holy Spirit throughout the believer's life.
Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 1 Pet. 1:15–16A distinct experience from the new birth, available to every believer — accompanied by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues. Empowers the believer for life, witness, and service. All nine gifts of the Spirit are active today.
Acts 2:1–4; 10:44–46; 1 Cor. 12:1–11God's miraculous healing was provided in the atoning work of Christ. Healing is available to every believer today — through faith in God's Word, through prayer, and through the laying on of hands.
Isa. 53:4–5; James 5:14–15; 1 Pet. 2:24Established by Jesus Christ and observed by the Church until He returns. The bread and cup are symbols of His broken body and shed blood — a declaration of His death and an expression of faith in His resurrection and return.
Matt. 26:26–29; 1 Cor. 11:23–26The universal Church consists of everyone born again by the Spirit. A local church is believers gathered for worship, fellowship, the ordinances, and Gospel proclamation. We affirm the five ministry gifts — Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.
Eph. 2:19–22; 4:11–13; Acts 2:42–47Jesus Christ will personally, visibly, and physically return for His Church — including the resurrection of believers who have died and the transformation of those still alive. He will establish His millennial kingdom on earth.
John 14:1–3; 1 Thess. 4:13–18; Rev. 20:1–6There is a final resurrection and judgment for all people. Those who have received Christ will receive eternal life in His presence. Those who have died without accepting Christ are eternally separated from God. There is no second chance after death.
Rev. 20:11–15; John 5:28–29; Heb. 9:27Saving faith — and the ongoing life of faith — are central to following Christ. Faith comes from hearing God's Word. Speaking God's promises over our circumstances is a scriptural practice. God's promises are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ Jesus.
Rom. 10:17; 2 Cor. 1:20; Mark 11:23–24; Heb. 11:1–6This statement is not meant to cover every possible theological topic, but it sets the foundation for our fellowship together and the standard for ministerial credentials. All affiliated churches and credentialed ministers are required to affirm this Statement of Faith in writing.
