Credentialing with Awaken Global
The Fellowship offers four types of ministerial credentials — from lay ministry certificates to full ordination. All credentials are recognized within the Fellowship's ministry network and must be renewed annually.
Christian Worker Certificate
For lay ministers, evangelists, missionaries, and those in active ministry not seeking ordination.
Proven Minister
Honors 3+ years of faithful, documented ministry service. A full credential — portable and permanent.
Minister's License
For those called to ministry and beginning their ministerial journey with the Fellowship.
Ordained Minister
Full ordination for experienced ministers who complete examination and Board affirmation.
For lay ministers, evangelists, missionaries, and others in active ministry who are not seeking ordination. Recognizes faithful Gospel workers with clarity of calling outside the ordained ministry track.
Requirements- Written affirmation of the Statement of Faith
- Evidence of active ministry involvement
- Good character and reputation — above reproach
- Reference letters from two credentialed ministers or church leaders
- Application form and applicable credential fee
This credential honors those who have demonstrated, through years of faithful service, the qualities Scripture describes as "approved" (dokimos — tested, genuine, worthy of honor). It is a full and honorable standing in its own right — not a first step toward ordination. It belongs to the individual personally and follows them wherever they serve.
Requirements- Written affirmation of the Statement of Faith
- 3+ years of faithful, documented ministry service with references and personal ministry narrative
- Good character — above reproach in personal conduct and family life (1 Tim. 3:8–13)
- Reference letters from two ministry colleagues (pastor, elder, or minister)
- Applicable credential fee — no formal exam required
Note: This credential does not automatically grant legal authority to perform marriages in Oklahoma. A limited authorization may be requested from the Board.
For those who sense a genuine call to ministry and are beginning their ministerial journey. No academic degree is required. The Board may establish continuing education expectations for annual renewal.
Requirements- Written affirmation of the Statement of Faith
- Evidence of a genuine call to ministry and active involvement
- Good character — above reproach in personal conduct and family life (1 Tim. 3:1–13)
- Reference letters from two credentialed ministers or church leaders
- Application form and credential fee
- Personal interview with the Credentials Committee, if requested
Full ordination for experienced ministers who have demonstrated consistent, fruitful ministry. Ordination is the highest credential offered by the Fellowship and requires Board affirmation after successful examination.
Additional Requirements (beyond Minister's License)- Minister's License held for at least 2 years (this or a recognized fellowship) — Board may waive based on demonstrated experience
- Consistent and fruitful ministry record during license period, evidenced by annual reports and references
- Successful ordination examination covering Statement of Faith, biblical interpretation, pastoral ministry, church governance, and ethics
- Affirmation by Credentials Committee of spiritual maturity, doctrinal soundness, and ministry effectiveness
Keeping Your Credentials Current
All credentials must be renewed each year. To renew, submit an Annual Ministry Report by the Board's stated deadline, pay the annual renewal fee, continue to affirm the Statement of Faith, and maintain personal and ministerial integrity consistent with the Bylaws.
Credentials that lapse may be reinstated within one year. After one year, full re-application is required.
